Venison donated to Abilene and Brownwood foodbanks

Food banks in Abilene and Brownwood are hoping generous deer hunters will donate venison to help feed the hungry over the next few months. "We are calling all the local processors right now to see if they will donate to us," said Jody Houston, executive director of the Food Bank of Abilene. "Venison is very healthy, and we are always short on protein." The Food Bank of Abilene has had a donation of 600 pounds of ground venison. The meat was donated on behalf of "Hunters for the Hungry" by David Easley, manager of deer processing at Ray's Grocery & Market in Breckenridge.____(Abilene newspaper/Celinda Emison copy)

This is "good news" for "hungry people" and venison is lean and tender meat. Local hunters should give "from the heart" and "Help The Hungry"!
